Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here. I have a decent report for you guys this week so lets get right into it. This week in Fort Lauderdale starting off on the inshore side of things there has been some bonito as well as some kingfish just on the edge of the reef about 120 to 150 foot of water. Majority of the kingfish have been coming on our deep lines fished under the surface using planners while the bonitos have been biting everything from surface to deep lines. Also on some of our surface strip baits there has been a good showing of sailfish. The sailfish have been kind of all over from 100 to 300 foot so its been more of a random thing. I would say its a little early to try and specifically target sailfish right now but it is always a nice surprise if you happen to get that bite. Moving a little deeper into the 200 foot there has been a few blackfin tuna around but seems the earlier the better, if you can get out just as the sun is peaking your going to have that chance at tuna. Tuna have big eyes so low light conditions are always going to be best, also with the moon being full this week that gives the chance for wahoo. Trolling quicker than normal and staying in depths from 200 to 400 foot is going to give you the best chance for that wahoo bite. Bottom fishing this week has been the hot topic specially the deeper bottom spots. Vermillion snappers have been hot this week and some large ones at that. Structure in the 300 foot range has been holding some nice sized vermillion snappers right now anywhere from 2-5llbs. The bait of choice is going to be fresh bonito. Also mixed in with the vermillion there has been some yellow eye snappers as well. Yellow eye snappers are not something we catch all the time but when there here and biting they are always welcomed specially for the dinner table. On the shallower side of bottom fishing there has been some nice sized mutton snappers biting mostly on structure around 150 feet. Live bait like pilchards are going to be a good choice to get the mutton snappers to bite. Mutton snappers are very wary so a long leader is a good choice, the further your bait can be from your sinker the better. Last but not least dolphin or mahi have been somewhat scarce this week, if your heading offshore its been a total crapshoot. There hasn't been much bird activity but if you can get lucky enough to find some kind of floating debris thats where the mahi are going to be. The few mahi reports that I have heard of the fish have been far offshore 15 miles plus so if your going to make the trip you are pretty committed for the day, hopefully soon we will see a nice run of mahi in the month of October so be on the lookout for that in future reports. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters out of Fort Lauderdale, and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For the rest of the month of September we do have availability so if your coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing we would love to have you and show you a great time on the water. Sailfish Bite Remains Strong In Fort Lau
Sailfish Bite Remains Strong In Fort Lau
Aprile 1, 2026
Hello, Capt. Vinnie here, another great week of deep sea fishing here in Fort Lauderdale. We had some great weather earlier in the week with calm winds and seas but this week and the week ahead looks like we will be at the mercy of the winds. What does that mean for fishing? It has been good and I have the report and the pictures to prove it. This week just like the title says the sailfish have been bitting absolutely fantastic and it has been as good as i have ever seen it. Live baiting from a kite as well as trolling has yielded great results for billfish right now. Average size has been around 70lbs with smaller and bigger one as well. All the depths has been productive but it seems like when we have current you want to be just inside of the tide line to produce the most sailfish bites. Other then sailfish right now there has been a pretty decent showing of spring mahi. The seaweed has began to show up and there has been some mahi mixed in with it, hopefully it stays at a minimum for us to be able to fish. We are also starting to see blackfin tuna be a very consistent thing trolling has been productive for getting the most action but the live bait is going to get you the quality or larger fish. Smaller tunas have been around 2-8lbs and the larger tunas on live bait have been close to 20lbs. Last for pelagic fish this week there was a few wahoo earlier in the week just before the full moon, we should start to see a few more just as we get to the back side of this full moon. This weeks bottom fishing report has been steady but some days are better then others bottom fishing wise. Vermillon snappers have been the majority catch right now but we are still seeing some large trigger fish mixed in. 200 feet has been the best depth but the fish do move around, the best conditions for bottom fishing have been when we have light winds and small seas with a light north current if you have that recipe your going to crush them! This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters. Also remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Coming up for the next few weeks availability is some what limited but a few dates remain, looking at our recent reports and recent pictures i would say right now is a great time to come down and get out deep sea fishing so if your coming down to Fort Lauderdale look us up we would love to show you a great time on the water. more later.... Sailfish Are Biting In Fort Lauderdale
Sailfish Are Biting In Fort Lauderdale

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here. What a great week of fishing it has been here in Fort Lauderdale, and just like the title says the sailfish are biting in Fort Lauderdale. As of late I would have to say that this year has been one of the best years for sailfish that i have seen in the last 5 years. Fishing live bait or trolling have both been very productive ways to catch these fish. On days with wind kite fishing with live bait is the preferred method but on days with no wind trolling has been producing excellent results as well. Most of the fish have been all over from 80 feet on out to 300. Right now i would say we are at our peak for sailfish and it should stay steady for a good while. Other then sailfish we have been starting to see some really nice mahi mahi which is always excellent, they to have been scattered all over from shallow to deep and nice sized as well. Majority of the mahi have been around 10lbs with a few bigger ones close to 20lbs being caught. Trolling still remains very productive for blackfin tunas in the early morning and late afternoons. Afternoons seem to be much better but we still have been catching them in the mornings too. Mixed in with the tuna there has been a select few wahoo if your lucky and it just so happens the last few days the conditions have been just right to target them so be on the look out next week for some wahoo pictures. Last but not least bottom fishing for vermillion snapper has been very good on days that the current allows for it, some days there has been to much current to bottom fish but the days the current is strong the pelagic fish are biting so its kind of a double edge sword. Some of the biggest snappers have been around 4lbs, also mixed in with the snappers have been some small amberjacks. This week please be sure to take a minute and check out some of the great photos of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters, and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For the next few weeks we have some available dates so if your looking to do some deep sea fishing now is a great time, look us up we would love to show you a great time on the water and by the way the fish are biting! more later... Spring Time Fishing Is Here
Spring Time Fishing Is Here
Marzo 15, 2026
Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week we had a really nice change of pace as the fishing started to heat up from what it has been. Trolling has begun to pick up decent this week with some nice catches of king mackerel and some large barracudas which have been biting good in the morning trips. Afternoon trolling is where majority of the action has been taking place. We have been catching some really nice sized blackfin tunas this week while trolling in depths around 200 feet. The later in the afternoon the better the bite. The best trip for that is going to be the 6 hour afternoon trip, with the time change we just had and being out there till 7pm your going to get that sunset window of fishing. Other then trolling this week live bait fishing on days there is wind to use the kites has been productive for larger fish, like kings, as well as jumbo tuna and sailfish. Live bait is not always going to be the best for action but it is going to be the best for bigger fish. Something good to remember before your trip depending on what you want to try and catch. Last but not least bottom fishing this week was very productive for vermillion snappers. March is a tough month to bottom fish because it is one of the windiest months we have and the conditions don't always line up for that type of fishing, but that few windows that we do get to do that it can be very good. Depths around 300 feet was the best this week with some jumbo vermillion snappers around 4lbs. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters, also remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and Instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For the rest of the month of March we have select availability for fishing charters but for the month of April many dates remain. We have just gotten a taste of spring fishing this week and i would imagine its going to get better and better as April approaches. I would expect to see a few wahoo in the mix as well as lots of King mackerel and some really large tunas. Check back soon for new reports and pictures of some great catches. If your coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing please look us up we would love to show you a great time on the water. More Later.... Capt. Vinnie
