As the tide began to move, we pushed into the mangrove shorelines and potholes where the redfish were cruising. It didn’t take long before a beautiful slot redfish crushed a bait and made a strong run before coming boatside. To top off the slam, we worked a few ambush points along deeper mangrove edges where the snook have been staging. Sure enough, one aggressive snook inhaled the bait and gave us a fun fight before landing the final piece of the inshore slam. Fishing around Boca Grande continues to improve as spring settles in.
