JANUARY JACKSONVILLE INSHORE FISHING FOR
Gennaio 1, 2026
Capt. Dave's Fishing Charters , January 2026 January started off very cold. With still some of the BEST inshore fishing of the year. Jan. 1 & 2 even though it was cold, had all the right species chewin'...Trout, Redfish, Sheepshead & Black Drum were bending our rods all day long. RIGHT NOW!'' THE WATER TEMPS ARE WHAT MAKES IT ALL HAPPEN. Call me now and get the best tidal days booked. ALWAYS have a back-up day, in case of high winds. In July thru September, I daydream about how good it can be during the deep winter months in Jacksonville. Probably the direct opposite, from where you fish. I've been preaching for 29 years, ''book your day, when the fish are biting!'' SEARCH, Capt. Dave's Sport Fishing on Youtube to see video shorts of fall/winter **hidden content**

YOU, are missing it!

FOR 28 YEARS I'VE BEEN PREACHING, AND ON MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL (Capt. Dave's Sport fishing) THAT N-O-W, IS THE BEST TIME OF YEAR. WINTER IS GREAT IN JAKSONVILLE FOR LIGHT TAKLE FISHING INSHORE, THE SALT MARSH AND RIVER. DON'T SHOW UP IN THE HEAT OF SUMMER AND THINK ITS GOING TO BE AS GOOD AS IT IS NOW. (as of this report. DECEMBER 20TH 2025) I'VE BEEN AT THIS FOR 28 YEARS. AND HAVE HEAR IT ALL FROM PEOPLE. THEY THINK BECAUSE THEY ARE ON VACATION IN JULY, THAT THE FISH CARE! IT'S HOT AS HELL, AND SO IS THE WATER! FROM TEXAS TO FLORIDA, FISHING GUIDES WILL TELL YOU. RIGHT NOW IS THE TIME...''we all preach it''. BRING A JACKET WITH A HOOD, AND SNEAKERS, SOME DRINKS AND A SNACK IN A PLASTIC BAG...NO COOLERS, NO BACKPACKS. THATS ALL YOU NEED!! AND LETS GO. I CAN TELL YA MY REGULAR CUSTOMERS DON'T SHOW UP IN THE SUMMER, THEY'VE LEARNED OVER THE MANY YEARS, WHEN TO BOOK THEIR DAYS.

BEST TIME OF THE YEAR!!!! NO SWEAT, FIS
Novembre 1, 2025
November Jacksonville Fishing Report Redfish seem to be totally dominating the marsh. They are busting along the banks in all the creeks in Jacksonville's fall fishing season during salt marsh low tides. The "Beaver Moon" on the 6th of November had a extreme negative low tide, which exposed the creek bottoms so much, we saw the true size of many sandbars in the backcountry marsh. All the while, Redfish with their tails and backs out of the water were chasing bait around every bend. Flounder of course are closed for keeping by the state, and that's when I seem to catch the most. Soft Plastics on a light jig-heads is the standard, while we also fish slip-floats with live Shrimp too. Bottom fishing in deep water for oversized Redfish will continue through January, during Jacksonville's fishing calendar. Swift current/tides have us using heavy duty tackle, heavy sinkers and usually big chunks of cut bait for them. If you choose to "bait & wait" fish, for your possible personal best 20-40 pound Redfish. The air temp is right for us, the water temp is right for the fish! No Sweat Fishin’ (Literally) Yes, we’ll have some weather issues. But from now till Mothers Day, is the best time of year to Fish Jacksonville. Yes, the opposite of what most people think. Fall-Winter-Spring is the best. Not in the heat of summer!

Full moon, crazy tides, BIG TIME CHALLENGES! Jacksonville, FL OCTOBER 8, 2025 HUSBAND & WIFE FROM ''GUATEMALA'', ORIGINALLY PICKED 10/9 AND THE FORECAST WAS SCA-25 KNOTS. THE FULL MOON OCTOBER TIDES MADE THIS DAY CHALLENGING ENOUGH SO WE WENT ON 10/8 INSTEAD AT HIGH TIDE. NEEDING "LOWER WATER" TO CATCH ANY FISH UP IN THE MARSH. STARTED OUT CASTING JIGS & SHRIMP, FOR JACKS AND LADYFISH. LOADS OF BITES NOT MANY HOOK UPS. AS THE TIDE DROPPED WE ENDED UP GOING TO MY FLOAT-RIG SET-UPS AND BAIT CASTING TACKLE AND LIVE SHRIMP. THEY ENDED UP WITH 3 REDFISH, TWO PERFECT "KEEPERS". BUT AS THE TIDE GOT "PERFECT", AND THE BAIT FISH (MULLET) STARTED SHOWING UP ALL AROUND US. THEY WANTED TO GO IN AND CALL IT A DAY, AT 3:30pm. "OK, WHATEVER YOU WANT" . I WAS READY WITH PLENTY OF LIVE SHRIMP TO CATCH MORE REDFISH. THE CHALLENGE WAS REAL TODAY, AND WE WERE ON THEM, NOW. WE SWITCHED DAYS, WE SWITCHED TIME OF DEPARTURE, WE HAD TO WAIT ON THE TIDE, WE BARELY AVOIDED 2-3 RAIN STORMS PASSING BY, AND WE AVOIDED ANY HIGH WINDS. I WAS READY TO GET ON MORE REDFISH. *** PLEASE, BE ABLE TO STAND, MOVE ABOUT THE BOAT, AND BE VERY MOBILE, AND SURE ON YOUR FEET. TO GO ON THESE TRIPS. NONE OF THESE TRIPS ARE SITTING IN A CHAIR TO FISH. **hidden content** Gear & Tackle Used: FLOAT-RIG FISHING LIVE SHRIMP & CASTING JIGHEADS & SHRIMP

WATER TEMPS DROPPED
Settembre 16, 2025
A WEEK OF WINDY AND THE CALENDAR HAS HAD THE INSHORE WATER TEMPS DROP. "I CALL IT GO -TIME" MYSELF. TEMPS FELL OUT OF THE 80's FINALLY AND JUST THE OTHER DAY I SAW 76-77 DGREE RIVER WATER TEMPS. IT'S REALLY THAT TIME OF YEAR THAT I LOOK FORWARD TOO. EVEN THE MORNING AIR HAS BEEN WHAT WE'D REFER AS COOL. HOPEFULLY NO MORE "SWEATIN' TO THE OLDIES" BY 8am, ANY LONGER. SO WHAT DID WE CATCH? ABOUT 20 REDFISH AS FAST AS YOU OULD PITCH A SHRIMP BACK TO THE SPOT ON A FALLING TIDE IN A MARSH CREEK. YEP, 3-5' OF WATER. LIGHT TACKLE, ONE AFTER ANOTHER. FOR HOURS!!! EVEN AS THE CURRENT DIED, FROM THE TIDE SLOWING. THE BITE CONTINUED. EVEN A FEW JACK CREVALLE's. IN THE 2-4 POUND RANGE SHOWED UP AND I GOT TO TRY OUT A NEW ULTRA LIGHT CASTING ROD AND REEL ON THEM.
