The king salmon season kicked off strong, with anglers seeing consistent action and full limits on many trips. The current top fish on the leaderboard is a solid 18 pounds, 3 ounces, but the competition has been tight. Several other contenders have landed kings in the 11-13 pound range, making the leaderboard battle exciting early in the season. With plenty of fish in the 13-pound class and coho salmon also starting to show in better numbers and size, it’s shaping up to be an excellent summer for salmon fishing.

We had a great day on the water with three awesome anglers visiting from Texas! The morning started off a bit slow, but once the bite turned on, it didn’t let up. The action picked up quickly, and we ended the trip with full limits of beautiful coho salmon.
