Water warmed up to 65 but not enoigh to get the fish to bite today- rough one where fishing really lived up to its name. A bunch of makeral today for the first time this year. Only one Nice sized Sand Bass today. Caught a few 13 inch undersized Sand Bass as well. Metered and anchored on nice size schools of large fish all day and threw live Sardines, dead fresh Squid, Jigs, and cut baits at them while chumming but the fish were stubborn today. Theres always tomorrow! Fished Sharks today and thought I saw one fin on the morning charter but nothing came up. No sharks today.

Water dropped 5 degrees this morning- tough fishing today- only 2 fish on a 3 hr. Lost a bunch- at least a dozen and had a great Halibut bite w about another 8 bites slamming the baits. One Halibut held on to the bait all the way to the boat where we could see him ....then he spit it.

3 hr trip this late morning- a dozen Calico Bass released, A 50 pound Black Sea Bass safely released. Kept about a 30 pound Halibut. GREAT DAY ON THE PACIFIC OCEAN. RockenReel Sportfishing starting the 2026 season early. Two days ago we had a wide open Calico and White Sea Bass Bite.
