July 4th

This walleye fishery that we have in our backyard brings in anglers from all over this country. So far this year I have had anglers from Wyoming,Iowa,ohio,New York, Wisconsin, West Virginia,Arizona and this morning Indiana. Wayne Vogel and Ellie drove all the way from Indianapolis to experience first hand what lake erie walleye fishing was about. It took us a while to find some nice size walleye for them to take home. The first hour it was non stop action on 14-16 inch fish. We headed deeper off the point searching for some bigger fish. It did not take long and a much better class of fish was located. Dipseys back 80-100 with small stinger spoons were firing regularly. 5 color leadcores with medium bayrats were also good this am. Trip 2 of the day Eddie Breiding his mother Becky, Nash and Nixon joined us for day 2 of their 2024 Erie vacation. We decided to fish some new water this afternoon and we're rewarded with fast action and a larger class of fish. Same program as yesterday with dipseys back 80 and 110 ft. Medium bayrats on 5 colors of leadcore. Fished deeper water off the condos, 65-80 fow. Today was Nash's day to land the biggest walleye of the day.

Today 3 generations of the Barnes family from Tionesta area joined me for their first walleye charter on lake erie. Justin Barnes,Chris,Larry and Randy got to experience Lake Erie at its finest. 28 walleye hot the cooler this am before 8:15. Fished west again 65-78 fow. Same program we have been running the past couple days. Seems as thought there are better fish out deep lots of 4-5 lb fish with a few bigger mixed in. Back at it in the am.

I have been slacking on fishing reports this past week. The fishing remains phenomenal, we have fished diffrent areas off the point daily with the same results. Fish have been coming on mono and thindestick Jr's on one side and 5 colors with renosky on the other. Dipseys backn 80-130 have been hot also. Today we had Jimmy Simms his buddy Andy and their 2 boys out. Everyone caught their biggest walleye ever and the kids had a blast. Still have a few week days open if anyone is interested in catching some walleye.
