Some improved spring weather and shark fishing yesterday for a family from New Mexico. The trio went 5/7 on blues to around 100lbs.

Last week saw some great big mako action in the waters off San Diego. We caught several makos from 200 to 700lbs. Several small makos, blues and even a huge great white also made appearances in the chum slicks.

Good numbers of sharks this spring with groups releasing at or near double digits of blue sharks every trip with a mako thrown in the mix on most days. Largest so far is a 500lb class mako.
