The freshwater drum fishing has been absolute insanity these last couple weeks with fish pushing over 20lbs on light tackle rods makes for a thrilling fight. Pound for pound these drum are some of the hardest fighting fish in the lake. The lake trout jigging has slowed to a halt as the lake recovers from the massive flooding on july 10th but the bite will return as the lake settles

Weare in full swing-on our jigging trips on lake Champlain and there’s no better time to experience the fight these fish have coming up from the deep water! Although trolling is extremely productive in the spring and the early summer these trout go deep once the water warms. Thus making it prime for jigging! Jigging for lake trout is one of my favorite ways to target these beautiful fish and the bite has been hot!. we’ve been busy the last few weeks! Just got the new boat back which is full of room and extremely comfortable for groups to fish out of. Water temps dropped with local rains making todays trip mostly top water, lots of fish on the fly rods and planer boards made for a great trip for this local group! Even hooked up on a giant pike in 400FOW as an unexpected prize!
