More Dolphin and Cobia

Good mahi fishing offshore! Big sheepshead spawning nearshore. Chomper blues and tons of spanish around. Seeing a few cobia aswell!

The yellowfin tuna are still being caught off the coast of hatteras. We caught this one about 30 miles from the inlet in about 280 ft of water. Other species of tune such as Blackfin, Atlantic Bonito and false Albecore were also caught on standup tackle using a vertical jig. After the sun was high we switched up and found a nice weed line that was holding some gaffer sized dolphin. We picked up a few heading south against the stream. We stopped by the tower on the run home but there was no sign of Cobia. As water temps warm we hope the Cobia will make a strong showing in late May through early June.
