Finally got out today for a quick trip after a decent break due too bad conditions contributed by Hurricane Erin. The ocean in the area has been stirred up pretty good, with water clarity being very murky and reports from other boats not being so great but low and behold, first drop and the bite was on, we had close to 20 short Fluke/Seabass and this nice size straggler of a Bonito. Fish in the box so no complaints here… Great job guys!

August 11th was a great day full of bent rods. Sean came aboard for a last minute Reef trip where we went round robin to a few of the areas reefs trying to find that keeper fluke for the table. After a full day of short action, roughly 35-40 throwback Fluke, Seabass, Searobins and Croakers, Sean made the grind all worth it reeling in this 23.5” Fluke in about 50 feet of water. He was using his light action rod with a high low rig and large gulp. Nice work bud!

Went out today to the reefs directly south of Long Beach NY which is one of the destinations of the 6 Hour Reef Trip. Ocean conditions were very comfortable. Most anglers out there had similar experiences today of consistent action drifting over the reefs and rock piles from the south side of the reef to the north side. We had lots of action with the short Flukes as well as some Black Sea Bass mixed in. Todays trip included myself and one other Angler and with a soak time of only 2.5 hours we collectivly had 14 Fluke, 5 Seabass, and 2 Sea Robins all of which were chomping down on the clam bellies. One of the Sea Bass was just short of the keeper size at around 15.5”. He’ll be a keeper on someone elses line in the future as he was tossed back. Lots of Action and a great day on the water.
