Following our most recent successful sword trip, we navigated our way west to try and replicate the results. Flat calm seas and crystal clear skies made for a very enjoyable day on the water! First drift, no bites. Second drift, tip rod gets bit within 5 minutes, goes slack, we are hooked up! After a tougher battle and breaking the rod and reel, we land this beauty and decide to call it an early day and head to the scales! Just shy of 200 lbs, this fish provided many dinners for our family and friends! The gladiators of the sea are biting and the weather is GORGEOUS. Due to our local waters being unusually warm, the chance to catch pelagic fish this late in the "season" remains! After an hour run to the zone, we deployed two baits into the depths to start our first drift. Within 15 minutes of the first drift, our buoy fell flat on the surface indicating that we are bit. After a brief battle, we landed this beautiful swordfish with plenty of time left to catch another! This is what is happening right now!
