We started out doing what we normally do, caught a couple nice healthy rainbows right away, it slowed down quick in the morning, but we were able to catch a few more rainbows and a brown trout. We then moved to try for bass as the day warmed up, within 15 minutes or so we caught a 2lb smallmouth and a 23" 4lb brown trout, super fat and healthy! Also caught a fat female bluegill which was also ready to spawn. Honestly as a guide this week has been tough, we have really had to work for the fish. The lake has had a lot of fishing pressure, and a lot of fish are scattered. The great thing is, we are catching some nice ones. We have caught 1 rainbow this week at 20" and a 23" brown trout. There are a lot of small rainbow trout grouped up in different areas, but working for the big ones has paid off!

Fishing has been hot at Deer Creek! Some fist ever fish catches and lovely sunsets while reeling in fish doesn't get much better. Had 15 on and landed 6 of them.

We are currently catching trout and some walleye while trolling, typically catching 2-3 walleye per trip around 14-17". Trout are around same size while sometimes catching one or two over 18"-19". Typically catching around 12-20 rainbow trout per trip. We have also been able to catch some smallmouth bass. Mostly smaller, but we did catch one at 17.5" 3lb the other day, was a super nice smallie. We recommend catch and release on bass while they are currently spawning. If you are debating a trip with us. Please come out on a weekday! We experience less boat traffic on the lake and also have our best amount of walleye june-july, trout will also be amazing in the early mornings in mid-late june to late july.

We typically do well for rainbow trout, somedays have been great and some slow. Weather keeps changing on and off and it plays a big role. We sometimes catch some spawning males that are not good eating, but are pretty fish. We have been getting a couple nice rainbows usually each trip around 18-19". As its been warming the bass have been staging and bedding up, especially smallmouth, largemouth will spawn probably end of the month, but smallies started on shallow areas of the lake. They have been more active on warmer days. Brown trout are rare but possible, sometimes we luck into them ranging from 18"+. But we dont typically catch them each trip, maybe one every other week or so. End of may early june is going to be great for bass and walleye! Were looking forward to take you out and catch some!
