Backwater Tarpon Fishing PR
Don't do a 2 hour trip. it's well worth the money to do a 6 hour trip as the slack tide can cause a bit of a mid day slow down on bites.

although the weather was nice it did rain. the boat we used didnt have a top due to low bridges in the Mangroves to get through. I would recommend a pancho or water proof light weight jacket just in case along with a towel.

FishNSea Charters—Boston Whaler 22’
specifically went to catch tarpon and Backwater fishing advised us on the best times to go. Captain Manny was a great guide and teacher for catching tarpon. went 8 out of 11 fish in the boat.

Go with these guys! They work as a team to try to put you on fish! Regardless of catching they show you a good time and Captain Mateo was a professional and worked hard. Can’t help when the fish wont bite or stay on the line.

Book the 4 hour time frame as fishing is inpredictable and it gives you plenty of time to handle the ebs and flows of the water. Eat well or bring a snack. Kids 12 and up are probably better equipped to handle the down time between catches! Shag was great! played great music, told great stories, and was a good teacher of technique to catch the Tarpon!

Book this chart but book it early. Very experienced captain and mate, which is also a captain. The tandem are awesome. Highly recommend for your first trip out. They care about their passengers and always stress safety first.

His passion for the environment and the fishery really showed, and we learned so much while having a great time on the water. Manny was patient, helpful, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and successful.
If you want an authentic and educational fishing experience in Puerto Rico, I highly recommend going out with Manny. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

take seasickness meds if you get seasick. Ive done this alot and dont get sick but this was choppy at times and i could see where it would make you sick

We were first time off shore anglers and we had a blast!! Captain brought snacks and drinks, but it’s never a bad idea to bring something that might make your comfortable if your picky. Bring sunscreen lotion, long sleeves and sunglasses. It’s pretty bright out there!! 10/10 felt comfortable and loved it!!
