Gerardo was awesome! Put us on snapper and big eye trevalli immediately. While I really wanted to get a rooster, he put us on at least three throughout the day but the fishing gods were against us as they all came off the hook. Certainly not his fault, fully on the guy behind the reel. I would highly recommend him over the higher priced “resorts”. Keep it local, you won’t be disappointed…

My Dad, brother, and I went out with Gerardo on New Year’s day and we couldn’t have had a better time. He knew exactly where to go to catch live bait quickly, and once we caught enough bait, we found plenty of fish to feed our group of 7 for the rest of our trip (and released plenty as well). We caught red snapper, cubera snapper, African Pompano, big eye trevally, and even had a Rooster on but it got away. We caught a ton of fish of various species using several different techniques: Roosters on poppers, groupers and pacific bonita on fast jigs in 300’ of water, snapper with slow pitch jigs. Capt knows how to put you on fish and is a great all-around guy. Somehow he even got my wife (who doesn’t ever fish) to land a Rooster on drifted live bait. We had a blast!

Gerardo is an excellent fishing guide!  After the first day my wife and I were fortunately able to schedule a second day with him.  We caught two large Roosters, 4 nice Pompano,  a number of Snapper and a few other species.  Lots of great photographs and fun.  Gerardo is very professional, knows where the fish are and how to catch them. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great fishing experience.
