Although I feel that a day on the water is better than a day at the office, bite or no bite, I certainly understand your frustration. I’d like to remind you though, as we discussed when we departed the dock, the saying at the bait and tackle stores here is “if you can catch fish in Hilton Head, you can catch fish anywhere.” Clearly, the belief among the “experts” here is that Hilton Head is better known for its golf than its fishing—and I made it a point to convey that belief to you at the outset of our trip in order to ensure your expectations were commensurate with these fishing grounds. This foreknowledge was especially important for me to pass on to you knowing that you, like myself, had spent countless years fishing the abundant estuaries of Florida—estuaries that have no comparison in the United States. This notwithstanding, Aqua Excursions had, until this negative review, maintained the number one position on Fishingbooker the entire summer season and we did so by consistently catching fish. To date, your 4-hour trip has been the only trip where we did not get a single bite—something that was obviously out of my control (especially knowing we used live bait), yet something that frustrated me as much as it disappointed you. As our countless positive reviews and recommendations reflect, we have gone above and beyond to ensure our Clients are more than satisfied, and we will continue to do so no matter what the cost. That is why, at the completion of our trip, you were awarded with a complementary trip, yet declined that offer. Although I know that it is called “fishing,” I want our Clients to catch fish, and will do whatever it takes to make that so. We at Aqua Excursions have our own saying, which is “the bite comes and goes, but our customer service never changes.” Therefore, as we discussed, it would be my pleasure to schedule another complementary trip for you, at your convenience, to give it another try.
