I bought this trip as a surprise for my husband for our 5th year wedding anniversary. He loves fishing and I’m so glad I came across this opportunity because it was awesome! I’m not a big fisher myself and had intentions to just watch, but Paul really encouraged me to get into the fishing spirit and I’m glad I did because I had a blast! If you’re visiting Hawaii and looking for a great fishing experience this is it!

Captain Paul put us on fish more than we could’ve asked for. He was very knowledgeable as to where the fish like to hang out, what baits and lures to use and when to use them, and the different techniques used to catch them. He was also very patient with us and very encouraging when things weren’t going as planned. He provided excellent feedback as to what needs to be adjusted in order to land more fish hence making this experience even more enjoyable. During this trip, I learned many new things and greatly improved my current set of fishing skills. I look forward to applying these new techniques and skills on our next session. If you go to Oahu you must give Paul and Exit 8 charters a call. Not many people think freshwater fishing in Hawaii including most of the islanders I spoke to, but the peacock bass fishing is amazing. Paul was great company and really did an incredible job. I had fun just hanging out and talking with him along with catching fish. Would highly recommend this charter.

Fishing with Captain Paul was one perfect experience! From the beginning, he put me on fish almost immediately, catching my first peacock bass on the third cast. The day went on to be lots of fun, with great fishing for peacock bass and other exotics that cannot be found easily on the mainland using lures and bait. Paul made fishing so enjoyable and chill, and he really cared about the entire experience. Highly highly recommend!
