So freaking smart, so generous with his teaching and sharing, he excuted an extraordinary level of detail when it came to the terminal tackle setups and presentations, and offered detailed coaching on the minor things that make a big difference in the fighting and netting of a fish.  Oh and the boat setup is level 100.  On top of that, Captain Ben is just a good human and actually truly went the extra mile(s) for both myself and his other guests that day.  My favorite take away was how he described triggering Salmons aggression instinct with the flashers and terminal tackle.  I kinda always thought that phrase aggression instinct was like “fighting back”.  But he connected it to the instinctual habit of feeding, not from hunger, but the gut reaction to attack prey. He described it like a cat chasing a laser pointer, they almost can’t stop themselves, and its not cause theyre hungry or gaining anything from swatting at the laser dot. … mind…blown…. Anyway, the cabin is nice and shielded from the winds, the equipment feels well maintained, the vibe onboard is positive and educational and tenacious for getting on fish.  I cant wait to go out with Captain Ben early next summer and get after some Ling Cod and Prawns.

Captain Ben was fantastic. Easy to reach, quick to communicate with, and kept us well-informed about the weather leading up to our trip. Out on the water, he explained everything about fishing in a way that made us feel safe, confident, and excited to learn more about salmon fishing.

We had plenty of action with multiple bites, and thanks to Ben’s guidance, we successfully landed a beautiful 23lb Chinook! Even when the waves picked up during the second half of the trip, Ben made sure we always felt safe and comfortable. We hooked into a few more fish, though some were undersized or slipped away—but that just added to the thrill.

Overall, it was a fun and memorable trip, and I wouldn’t hesitate to head out with Captain Ben again next time!

This trip was a birthday present for my 70 years old dad
The captain was very attentive to detail, always took care of the comfort and safety of the guests, very open and sincere, tells all his secrets and life hacks acquired through his many years of experience. We are already planning the next trip with him and dreaming of botom fishing next spring
I also want to note his new boat, equipped with the latest equipment that helps a lot in finding fish and fishing
We caught more than 20 fish, 6 or 7 of them was 15+lbs Chinooks.

Thank you so much for the absolutely bucket list experience you provided for me and Elaine - an incredible day on the water and best of all - salmon for everybody! We learned a ton about these amazing fish, had an awesome tour and hooked into six gut pulling fish. The giant king was one of the most amazing fishing experiences of my life-what a thrill. Our 5hr charter on Ben’s lovely boat was fantastic ! Ben is an excellent guide, and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible time on the water. His boat was high-end and comfortably fit our crew. Despite it being a slow fishing day, we came out with 3 delicious fish. Even if we didn’t catch, it would’ve been a great day for the fun times on the water and fishing knowledge we gained from Ben. Thanks Ben, hoping to be back again soon !
