What a day on the water! We started the morning with conditions a little windy, but worked our way offshore. We kicked things off by trolling and quickly got into the Bonitas, keeping the rods bent and the energy high. As we pushed farther offshore, we found some Wahoo and Mahi . As we started towards home we had a few more Bonitas, giving the us one last round of excitement before wrapping up the day with a gorgeous ride home. The Destin sunset and playing dolphins didnโ€™t disappoint! Huge thanks to our great group from Texas โ€” awesome people, great attitudes, and a blast to fish with.

5 Hour Trip Shows a Nice Variety

We had a fantastic day on the water with a 5-hour trip that brought in a variety of catches. It was a bit chilly in the morning, but the afternoon warmed up nicely, making ideal conditions. We landed plenty of bank bass, scamp, lane snapper, a 3lb flounder, and lots of triggerfish. The weather was gorgeousโ€”flat seas and cool temperatures made for a pleasant outing. In addition to the great fishing, we were treated to the sight of numerous playing dolphins, adding to an already memorable day.

Yesterday brought sunshine, steady winds, and a true test of persistence on the water. While the targeted species werenโ€™t cooperating, we stayed busy with plenty of Bonita action on the troll, a few quality triggerfish, and a surprise visit from a small tiger shark. We even had a close call with a medium mahi that slipped away at the last moment. As always, it was a great day to be on the Gulf โ€” because any day spent fishing beats a day of doing anything else!

What a day offshore aboard the Marlin Mujer! We started the morning trolling and were met with immediate action โ€” plenty of hard-hitting bonitas kept the rods bending early on. As the bite stayed steady, we pushed farther offshore in search of mahi, and it didnโ€™t take long before we had our mahi in the boat! We trolled around a little more, enjoying some great fishing and even better company. The weather was perfect, temperature-wise โ€” warm with a consistent breeze โ€” though it was bit choppy most of the day, adding just the right touch of adventure. The ride home provided us with an amazing sunset! All in all, an exciting day on the Gulf with plenty of smiles, tight lines, and stories to tell!

The morning started off overcast, we quickly got into some medium sized Mahi, hooking up with four at one time. As the day went on, the bite got a little slower, but steady. Then we hooked up with a double header of tuna on one rod, followed by a double header of mahi on one rod. The fish were biting consistently one about every 15 minutes. We landed 22 mahi and two tuna.

The fishing report: It was one of those days where patience was put to the test out on the water. The bites were slow, and the hours drifted by with little action to show for it. But just when we started to accept the quietness of the day, a bright splash of excitement broke the surfaceโ€”a beautiful mahi-mahi!
