We had a really nice trip fishing for tuna with Captain Al and mate Steve. We caught fish and I had a really pleasant time talking with them both. Nice guys who are obviously very experienced and extremely knowlegable about fishing. Steve worked exceptional hard to give us the best chance to catch the most fish, and it really paid off. Comfortable and fast boat, very well equipped for fishing these waters.

Captain Al and first Mate Steve were great. They were personable and provided coaching where needed. The equipment was top notch, several steps up from the party boats we’ve been on. Captain Al was able to find some hot spots and we took home quite a few keepers, although I was the only one who caught our take home fish. I’d recommend this charter and would take it again if the chance came again

We were originally scheduled for a different trip, but I let Captain Al suggest what to do, and how glad I am that we did. We certainly got lucky with a dozen Tuna nicely spread throughout the day, but both of them were great with my son who was also on the trip. Very encouraging as he worked to bring fish in himself. Came home with the limit of delicious fish.

Had a great experience fishing with Captain Al and first mate Steve. I took my college age son and his friends out for a morning trip and we caught more fish than they could eat. During the trip we hit fish at each spot and many of those hit on almost every cast. Happy to recommend for your next trip.

A few days prior to the trip, I received a call from the Captain telling me Bluefin Tuna has been shut down. He asked if I wanted to cancel or discuss some other options- I said let’s discuss. I easily agreed to going for stripers, blues and sharks, no biggie. I thought this was being easy, accommodating and honoring the initial commitment so that small business didn’t take a financial hit- evidently, no good deed goes unpunished. Never before in 50+ years of party boats (head boats) or private charters, have I ever been treated with the level of utter disrespect and rudeness as I was today. The captain was at best unfriendly at the start and it only degenerated from there, the mate pivoted between mildly approachable to blatantly rude….both of them took turns yelling at me on a few occasions. I’m an experienced fisherman, yet they treated me like a novice with a learning disability; mate would say one thing, captain would yell at me to do the other, and vice versa. I kept silently eyeing my cousin who I gifted to this trip after each incident, with the ‘WTF was that look’….we couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on. Nonetheless, if this trip had not been a gift, I would have told them to take me back after an hour. Did we catch fish? Yes. Is the boat fast, clean and well maintained? Yes Is the equipment good? Yes Is the staff knowledgeable? Yes Is the staff friendly? Absolutely Not, they were beyond horrific So, if spending a few $000 to catch fish and live out your dark masochistic fantasy of paying for abuse is your thing- you will thoroughly enjoy your time with Captain Al.
