4 days with Captain Gage Vaughn
Full Day Trip on June 7, 2025
I recently fished with Captain Gage Vaughn of Southern Cut Charters for 4 days and had an amazing experience with him. It was my first time saltwater fly fishing and he went the extra mile to make sure I got the best experience. We fished dock lights at night, walked the beaches looking for cruising fish in the surf, and slid our way through winding mangroves and beach flats. His experience and knowledge of the area go back generations, and it stands out. The program he runs is dialed in and has something for everyone. Capt. Gage was well prepared and constantly working to make sure I was comfortable during our trip. His passion for guiding is refreshing and his dedication is far above most. 10/10 would recommend Southern Cut Charters to anyone of all skill levels. Beyond being an amazing guide Gage is a great conversationalist, personal hype-man, photographer, adventurous and just an all-around great person.

Dock light party!
Night Time Trip – Dock Lights on June 1, 2025
My name is Matt DeMaio been fly fishing for around 12 years now and we all want to cross the tarpon off the list.. well with our Captain Vaughn Gage made it happen! He was so spot on with the dock light game I might have been going more studying then fishing but when Vaughn got me up , got the rod and fly ready and already had fish picked out from the darkness… There’s goes a Jump!!, thenn Matty don’t trout set… then finally.. GOT EM!! a couple sweet runs and jumps and Vaughn had him in hand! Couldn’t believe it and was so impressed with how dialed in he was. Thanks again buddy! Amazing night and can’t wait till next time!

we are very satisfied with the guiding. Since there was a lot of wind, we were only able to see and fish for a few large fish in the mangroves. But our guide tried very hard and gave us other options. He also showed us many very beautiful natural features. It was a very successful fishing trip. Thank you very much
