A Reel Good Time

I'll keep this simple, if you want to catch fish then you need to spend a day with Captain Xander on the Bay. Very friendly, especially with younger kids. Knows where to find the fish and takes time to instruct first time anglers so they can enjoy the excitement of catching the big one! Had a great time and cannot wait to do it again.

Went out with Capt. Alex last week and due to the extreme heat we had been having in Corpus, my expextations were not very high. I just wanted to get on the water and spend some quality time with the family. Let me tell you, it was a grind to get the fish we caught, but Capt. Alex made sure he was prepared for every possible scenario. We fished the top, then the bottom, then back on top, and back on bottom. He had 3 types of live bait and even a bit of dead bait which we used. Capt. Alex was amazing at getting us on the fish we caught. He was patient and took the time to teach everyone on how to cast and catch fish. He had water and gatorade for us, his boat was clean , and he had some of the best gear I have seen so far. This is my 4th charter and now I know why he has 5 star reviews. This will be my go to Capt. far all future inshore charters. Thank you for an amazing time Capt. Alex, everyone had fun for the exception of that trout I turned into Ceviche!!!!

Fished with Alex yesterday and had an incredible trip. We limited out on trout early and released several more before switching things up to target reds—ended up boating a beautiful oversized redfish to top it off. The day started with a heads-up text from Alex about an incoming storm, but instead of canceling, he waited it out for over four hours to make sure we still got on the water. It paid off big time.
The boat was clean, well-stocked, had plenty of shade, and Alex was on point the entire time—bait ready, rods set, always one step ahead. If you’re considering a trip, don’t hesitate. Book with Alex at Zander Ray on The Bay—you won’t regret it

Excellent day on the water with Zander!

My son, brother, and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Alexander (Zander) on his rig Sat, Apr 19, 2025. Everything at meet-up was on time and we'll planned. The only hiccup was a lack of live shrimp because recent high winds in the area for the past couple days. That did not detract from from the fishing trip at all. Zander had back up and we caught fish...big fish. Black drum were plentiful and despite being picky biters, we managed some keeper Speckled Trout as well. Zander was well informed on fish location, was a big help with everything on board, and a great conversationalist. I highly recommend anyone to Charter through Zander on the Bay. We will definately use this man's business again. Thanks for a great day, Zander!

Alex is awesome!
Weekend Afternoon-Late Bird Halfday on August 30, 2025 • 2 adults
Caught 24lbs of fish on a slow day. Alex did an excellent job finding fish and knew where all the good spots were. He is an excellent teacher for our first time fishing for drum fish, but we also caught several other species of fish. My girl caught the motherload, and I caught a lady. It was easy to coordinate trip details with him. He was a great buddies and talkative. He helped us get our fish cleaned and bagged and told us about some great restaurants that would cook our catch. Zander is a cool dude.
