Had a wonderful time fishing with Captain John! Caught several huge Black Drum. the boat was spotless and easy to move around. He got me on the fish fast. was a great time. looking forward to a retun trip with him. if you’re thinking about fishing with him book it. Captain Kohn met me at the dock and we became instant friends. You can’t go wrong fishing with him.

2 adults, 2 teenagers with fishing experience. I told captain John that I’d like something to take home to eat, but really just wanted to get lines in and catch fish. He got us started going after king mackerel and we ended up getting a Spanish mackerel. After that, we moved spots and ended up getting 5 bonnet heads and 2 black tip sharks, one was over 5 foot. What I liked most about the trip was how he helped the two boys understand how to use the drag and keep tension on the line, especially with the Spanish mackerel. Will book again if I’m in Hilton Head.

We had a great trip with captain John. Beautiful boat with plenty of room for our group of 4. Weather conditions early were less than ideal, but captain still gave it a go for kings. When it got too rough, he switched gears and still put us on fish. We got several sharks, a stingray and some good size bull reds. He put in extra effort and stayed out longer to put us on schools of surface feeding reds which is apparently rare and it was cool seeing his excitement. Very knowledgeable captain. We had a great time! Thanks again.

If you are a serious angler who desires first class service and an exceptional fishing experience, Performance Fishing and Captain John Cloyd is the man.
This was my fourth or fifth charter with Capt Cloyd and he has put me on the fish each and every time. Spend the time and money for an exceptional fishing expedition and you will not be disappointed!

Sheepshead!

We had a great day as a family fishing for sheepshead. Caught a pile - wrecked a good many baits as well! - and through it all Captain John kept us going and was a great guide.
