Great day on the water!
6 Hour Trip – Backcountry Fishing on April 7, 2025 • 2 adults
Took 13 year old grandson fishing. Dylan, our guide, put us on fish immediately! I wanted grandson to catch fish, and boy, did he ever! Highlight for him was catching 2 sharks. Lots of sea trout and a couple of snooks. Fantastic trip!

On February 28, 2025, I had the pleasure of embarking on a fishing trip with Captain Eric Scoble of Blackwater Charters II, and I am pleased to share that the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment me and my friend boarded the vessel, Captain Scoble’s professionalism and attentiveness were evident. He immediatly demonstrated his extensive knowledge of the local waters and the species we would target.
Throughout the trip, Captain Scoble’s personable demeanor made the outing not only enjoyable but also engaging and educational. Being a third generation fishing guide, his passion for fishing and deep understanding of the environment and the fisheries created an atmosphere that fostered both learning and conversation among us. Remarkably, we filled our fish box with an impressive catch of trout, providing us with a delightful dinner.
The meticulous care with which Captain Scoble navigated the waters and his ability to locate prime fishing spots proved instrumental in the day's success. Half Day early morning trip

Capt. Eric was an absolute treat. For one, he was extremely knowledgable about fishing, the birdlife, the general area and so easy to talk with the entire time. He made sure to be in an area where he knew the fish were (we landed 6 species in the short time out) even though it seemed like a long run to the spot. But he managed to put me on, coach me through and land a fish of a lifetime…. And then outrun a brewing thunderstorm to get us safely back to the dock perfectly on time. Cannot recommend this company enough.

What more could you ask for than a 4th generation Isla Morada native as a guide. Decided to stay in close since the wind was blowing and it was a cold day for Keys standards. Went for species count over size and had a ball! I think we counted 15 different by the end of the trip including one good size Lady fish that put on a good show. Eric was a fountain of knowledge as well as shared alot of History about the life in the Mid Keys. He also has a son that runs a second boat that I met breifly and with his Dad's knowledge and his pesonality it makes a great father and son team.
