Good mix of trolling & drift fishing
JOIN-TRIP Trolling and Spinning on September 28, 20251 adult
Good amount of fishing time! We started trolling 30 minutes after departure. Found an area of small black fin tuna, hooked one about every 3-5 minutes. Mate was excellent in assisting the anglers (most new or children). Captain circled the boat several times thru that patch! Drift fishing with spinner teals was uneventful! Seas were 3-4 feet later becoming 5-6 feet! Lunch was provided onboard by the crew as we anchored near an island out of the waves. Swimming available. Lunch was the fresh tuna we caught, grilled Bonita we caught, fried chix wings, rice, salad, fruit. After lunch, just trolling back to harbor (drift fishing wasn’t gonna happen with the waves. ALOT of time in the sun, bring sunscreen! Giant rest area to relax and nap was available.
A collection of freshly caught Tuna displayed on the deck of a fishing boat, showcasing a successful offshore fishing trip.
A vibrant spread of freshly prepared seafood and fruits, including sliced fish, rice, and tropical fruits like watermelon and pineapple, enjoyed on a boat.
A proud angler displaying two large fish while fishing on a vibrant blue boat in open waters.
Two anglers actively fishing on a blue boat, with one reeling in a catch while the other prepares their line. The scene captures the excitement of deep-sea fishing.

Coral Trout

**Rationale:** The Coral Trout (Plectropomus leopardus) is a species native to the Indo-Pacific region, particularly around Australia's Great Barrier Reef. This fish is not found in Italian waters (Mediterranean Sea) and does not have an established Italian common name in fishing terminology. Italian anglers would not be familiar with this species in their local context. Therefore, keeping the English name "Coral Trout" is the correct approach, as it maintains accuracy and is recognizable to anglers who might encounter this term in international fishing contexts.

If you’ve ever done a fishing charter orientated toward reef fishing and bottom dropping this is essentially that. Trolled out an hour and a bit, then reef fished in 30-40m deep water(2.5h), lunch on a small table for the amount of people, swim stop then trolling back in. Boat was suitable for say max 15 people so check how many are on before committing. Rods were of varying condition some shit some pretty good. Lunch was actually decent with the fish being what we caught that day, some chicken wings, fried rice, tom yum soup and fruit. The most disappointing thing of all on this trip was a large school of pelagics (Wahoo Mahi or Tuna) attack bait fish right on the surface within 100m ofthe boat cooincidentally within out last 10 minutes of reef fishing. Captain and crew aware of this, released trolling lines and didnt even attempt to lure any of these fish in simply stuck to schedule and left the area for a 45 minute swim session moored in some bay 400m offshore. We all caught fish, which every single one was kept regardless of species, which were offered to us when we were departing the boat. It was clear that the fishing trip was more of a ‘Pay to catch the locals fish’ trip, which is fine if you’re only there to have some fun. Book in person rather that through the app. My fee was 1000TBH more than the other anglers on the boat, 1600TBH more than one group. All in all had a decent day, we all caught fish, had a decent lunch and plenty of time in the sun, however if you’re keen on fishing this is not for you.
